Law in Times of Crises: The Jurist Jacob Robinson (1889-1977) - MA

This seminar examines the life, work, and era of the Jewish jurist Jacob Robinson (1889, Lithuania–1977, New York) and his significant contribution to shaping legal and political debates in the twentieth century. Through Robinson’s figure, the seminar will address topics such as the protection of minority rights, compensation for grave violations of human rights, refugee rights, the development of major international institutions, and additional issues. The seminar adopts an interdisciplinary approach, combining history, law, and political science to illuminate the broader context of Robinson’s work.
